Federal Government of Nigeria Declares May 1, 2017 Public Holiday to commemorate Workers Day
The federal government of Nigeria has declared 1st May, 2017 general public holiday. This is to celebrate workers day in Nigeria. As we all have known, workers in Nigeria do celebrate their day on every 1st of May. This year will not be an exemption and the federal government has made a move by announcing that there will be work free day on 1st may.
Lt Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd.) who is the Minister of Interior, made the declaration in a statement he issued on Friday by the Director, Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Alhaji Muhammadu Maccido.
It was all due to the efforts of Nigerian workers and the federal government has decided to honor them by giving them a day break in their works.
Lt Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd.) congratulated Nigerian workers for their resilience, hard work and commitment to the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari despite current challenges.
All the Nigerian workers were pleaded to continue their support to the president of Nigeria because he has a good plan for Nigeria in the aspect of fighting corruption, ensuring security of lives and property, and stabilizing the economy through creation of jobs and diversification of the economy.”
